Every pregnancy and birth is different so each post natal plan to get back into those jeans again should be reflective of this. One size doesn't fit all when it comes to mission 'core restore' but once you have had sign off from the doctor after 6 or 8 weeks then you're ready to go with some gentle steps towards your goal.
This is what guides most mums to get in touch. And who can blame them? It is not always a straightforward journey however as childbirth often has unexpected things in store for you and your health. I have great experience of getting fantastic results with post partum mums with the common issues of diastasis recti, urinary incontinence, prolapse. These can be demoralising and frustrating but with a gentle but progressive plan in place we will see results sooner than you might expect.
Stronger glutes, posture, core and arms will be essential to restoring your post partum confidence and enabling you to respond to the increasingly physical demands of your baby as they start to get heavier. As with all all elements of post natal fitness, it will start very gentle before getting more challenging as you are ready for it.
Life will be throwing a lot at you once your little one arrives so it becomes all the more important to take out a little time for yourself regularly. I work around nap times and I am fantastic at holding babies. Although engaging a PT may seem a bit daunting now it will almost certainly become a highlight of your week. I hear a lot of how much mums look forward to our sessions because it's much needed 'me' time- as much as the health benefits! Their body and mind have been through a huge amount so an hour focussing on themselves becomes a really important part of their post natal week.
I do 1 -1 classes online or in person- covid and geography permitting. I also do weekly group classes online. See Weekly Update above for class timetable. Drop me a line to see how we can make it work for you.
